Nativ Stranjerz are made up of 3 MC's who have a unique style and awesome live performance.

ALO:

Andre has been producing hip hop for the last 12 years and is the leader of the Nativ Stranjerz. His early introduction in music production came with the first rap group he was involved in called UNITY. Having grown up in Trinidad his musical roots started with a heavy dose of calypso, jazz, reggae and old school R&B. His first set of production tools were the bare basics a second hand tape player, a casio keyboard with around 8sec of mono sample time and his father's deep record collection. Public Enemy played a major part in his early production style. On any given day some abstract beats could be heard coming out of his bedroom (his then studio). As part of UNITY he went on to win local talent shows back in Trinidad and was a major part of the rap movement engulfing Trinidad in the late 80's. After maxing out his local potential, he and his partner Guage decided to go to the USA. Here was his first introduction into the shadiness of the industry. Their quest for a record deal took them to a few labels and many pipe dreams were sold. Getting jaded they returned to Trinidad. Andre returned to the USA within a few months to try the labels again, this time Gauge stayed behind and formed another group called Ghettorians which gained him local fame again. Andre got a apartment and hooked up a little studio(4 track recorder, drum machine, tape player, turntable and a microphone) this is where from 1990-1995 all his production was done and the formation of Nativ Stranjerz was spawned. This name was given to them by a DJ they grew up with DJ Gary B. The thought process was simple native to Trinidad and strangers to the USA. This evolved into Nativ Stranjerz. Meeting F.L.A.R.E in Brooklyn in 1990 they started working on music together and became a successful team during this period. Nativ Stranjerz had better luck than Unity with industry dealings and showed staying power and became a powerful collective, totally self-contained. Never liking other producers to mix down his stuff Andre started using bigger studios for his mix down sessions himself. Having had the opportunity to meet Bob Power (early mastermind behind the sonically tight sound of A Tribe Called Quest) around that time, Andre was inspired to come take his production style to a new level. Many comparisons have been made to Tribe,Pharcyde, Bush Babees, Hieroglyphics and any other not from norm type group you could name. One good listen to Andre's Production and you would agree his sound is like no other. Presently Andre production is done somewhat digitally now with computers, keyboards, drum machines and post production facilities. Samples are a thing of the past and you are about to be exposed to 100% pure Bamboozle funk.

F.L.A.R.E (earth name Marlon)

Lead Vocals and Visual/Lyrical Warfare

The name F.L.A.R.E loosely translated mean Frequently Leaving All Rappers Envious. He has been rapping for 10 years now as part of Nativ Stranjerz. Before moving to the USA, F.L.A.R.E was part of the early DJ scene in Trinidad and was immersed in hip hop culture as it was evolving then. Growing up in the same neighborhood as A.LO and Gauge, he was a natural addition to the Nativ Stranjerz when the time for its formation was at hand. Since 1990 he has been writing lyrics and contributing to the musical feel and direction of many of the songs created. One of his later contributions was the concept for a song dedicated to his brother, a touching tribute to the loss of a love one. Never at a loss for words F.L.A.R.E is known for some of the funnier bars on songs he is a part of. His stage presence is almost legendary, adding some crazy dance routines to A Stranje Show. Fans are always eager to see him perform. After the early efforts with New Breed F.L.A.R.E encouraged A.lo to do for self and make music we love and never sell out. F.L.A.R.E has a love for the party joints that A.lo throws his way and writes his lyrics based on many nights out in NYC.

Gooch Lee (earth name O'Neil)

Lead Vocals and Crowd Motivator

Gooch Lee was introduced to the Nativ Stranjerz soundscapes in late 1995 and was initially meant to be the hype man on stage. His Jamaican roots has been a great inspiration to his rhyme style. After being around A.lo in the studio he was asked to do some reggae stuff on a track. His vocals were done and they started freestyling on some other tracks and the rest is history. Gooch Lee still can work a crowd into a frenzy more now than ever with his sometimes sex tinged lyrical word play. The ladies love it, and so the Ragamuffin lyricist readies himself for the release of the Nativ Stranjerz First full length effort H.E.A.R.T music. Warning hip hop will not be the same.
