Amber Jade is a native of the desert landscape of Tucson, AZ. Passionate and driven from the start, she has lived more in her 25 years than some have lived in a lifetime.

Growing up in the shadow of the Catalina Mountains in her grandparents' foothills home, Amber Jade began her musical career at age 5 on the old upright piano in the basement.

As she developed her self-taught instrumental songwriting, Amber Jade also began a love affair with language at an early age. Experimenting with all forms of creative writing, she turned out poems and short stories from horror to fantasy adventure to biographical shorts.

When not writing music, Amber Jade was painting, drawing and sculpting. She continues to use her talent for graphic arts in her musical career.

She says about her early experiments with bands, "My first band was awful, I mean really bad! My original songs were very angry and sounded a little like Alanis meets The Dust Brothers, but on piano and with lots of electronica. My friends and I were crazy, running around town, being kids, getting into trouble. One day my loser boyfriend make a cutting remark about how bad my band was, and I decided he was right, so I cut out and went solo. My ex-bass player needed a loan for some rent money, and gave me his guitar as collateral. I didn't want the guitar; I wasn't interested, but I wanted to help him out. That was the first time I had ever really held a guitar. Strangely, holding that guitar, everything seemed right in the world. It was fate. I cut my first demos on that guitar within weeks, with my fingers bleeding from me playing them raw."

These first demos were cut at the CAVERN Studios in Tucson, AZ, where Amber Jade met with Producer Bill Cashman. He liked what he heard and offered Amber Jade a project to record her debut album. It took months to narrow down her eclectic line-up of songs to a single genre, acoustic pop.

After recording and releasing 'Breathe' to rave reviews, Amber Jade started her own label and began to tour in support of her album, doing everything on her own from booking to web design to repairing her own equipment. At 22 years old, she was traveling around the country with her instruments and her dog, Oso, in her ‘84 Ford Van.

Since then, Amber Jade has been to Europe, toured the US from sea to shining sea, written over 400 songs, published a book, and become a bright light on the music frontier. Her sister, also a talented singer and songwriter, tours along during the summer months as back-up and business partner. She says, "Music is my entire life. This is who I am meant to be, trials and all. I feel very lucky to have that purpose. Maybe I am not ending world hunger, but every person who comes up and says, ‘What you just said touched me,' gives meaning to my life. That is what it is about for me, one person at a time. Nothing could be better."
