Brian White grew up in Boston, MA., the only boy and eldest of six children. Brian's life experience and resume extend far beyond his years. Since graduating from Dartmouth College with a duel degree in Political Science and Psychology, he has earned his certifications as a Stock Broker (Series 7, 63 and 65), and played 2 seasons as a professional athlete, competeing in both the National Football League (NFL) and National Lacrosse League (NLL).
White has proven himself the consummate entrepreneur. He began his professional acting and producing career in 2000. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Brian was cast in the syndicated Movie of the Week, SOMETHING TO SING ABOUT. This provided him the foothold and inspiration he needed to make LA his home.
Brian currently appears on the small screen in the recurring role of DETECTIVE TAVON GARRIS, on the FX Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning drama series THE SHIELD and as series regular NIGEL MUSE on UPN's romantic comedy SECOND TIME AROUND.
Since becoming a full time Los Angelino, Brian has also become very active in the film world. In 2004 he co-starred as T-REX PENNEBAKER opposite Bernie Mac and Angela Bassett in the Disney/Touchstone comedy, MR. 3000 and as TRENT MEYER in the COLUMBIA/TRI-STAR noir thriller, A COMPLEX OCCUPATION (aka TROIS: THE ESCORT).
Brian can next be seen in a supporting role in the Rian Johnson penned drama BRICK, which premieres at the acclaimed 2005 Sundance Film Festival.
Further proving his entrepreneurial worth, Brian has recently dawned his Producer's hat. He has two feature projects in development both slated for production during 2005.
Mr. White is a classically trained dancer, and holds two corporate offices. He is the CEO of R&B Entertainment, Inc. and the Co-Founder of Phunk Phenomenon Urban Dance Theater (phunkphenomenon.com). These two organizations -- comprised of professional dancers and thespians, of more than 11 different ethnic backgrounds -- offer both casting and choreography services, perform a feature length stage production and provide peer leaders and mentors to urban youth and teens.
