Why don't black women like to cook and clean like they used too. When I see most sistas today they are into super fishal things such as eating out at expensive restuarants, latest hair styles, clothes, and shoes. What is it that so many black women have alienated themselves from the kitchen and doing domestic duties?
I know there was a time when the woman worked and still came home clean up and had a hot meal waiting before the sun went down. Now if a sista has a job she uses this as justification for not cooking and keeping the house together!
Some of these lazy ass women even expect you to take them out to eat on Thanksgiving! To me that's a day when the brothas sit around drinking beer and watching football all day while the women cook they turkey and dressing!
I know this is a new millinemum, but dam you're still a woman and i'm still a man, and some things just don't change or shouln't change!

I am still steaming at how Bush was treated when he took the time out to pay respect to Martin Luther King. Why do women get a bad reputation for enjoying and pursuing sex? Why is it that if a woman enjoys sex as much as most men and is willing to go after what she wants, in a healthy way, she is percieved as having no morals or being loose? While many will admit that our society has a double standard when it comes to sexuality, it doesn't seem like we're ready to change. Still today women are called names for having as many sexual partners as their male peers. Is it wrong for women to be open about their sexuality or do we need to reevaluate our attitude?

During the Supreme Court hearings on affirmative action Tuesday, Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas asked University of Michigan lawyers about their admissions standards.
"Lower your qualification standards," Scalia said. "If the value of having everybody in a mix with people of other races is so significant to you, just lower your qualification standards. You don't have to be the great college you are. You could be a lesser college, if this value is important enough to you."
Thomas suggested the same thing, saying U of M could achieve diversity by lowering their admission standards. In response, John Payton, a lawyer for the university, said that lowering standards doesn't necessarily equal diversity.
What do you make of Justice Scalia's comments? Is he right in suggesting that the standards for Michigan are too high for minorities? Or do you reject Scalia's belief that the way to attract more minorities to the campus of the "great" school is to become a "lesser" school? Tell us what you think.

The Supreme Court begins its historic look into affirmative action, which legal analysts say could come down to one vote. Justices Sandra Day O'Connor and Anthony Kennedy are the court's usual swing voters -- it's just a question of which way one of them will swing.
They could either defend using race as a factor for admissions into colleges, or they could redefine affirmative action policies for schools, which would clarify rules for businesses and other organizations using race to ensure diversity.
"It is very likely that it will be 5-4," UCLA law professor Eugene Volokh told the Associated Press.
"The question is, 5-4 which way?"
Which way do you think the votes will fall? Are you worried about what it will mean for minorities if affirmative action programs are ruled unconstitutional because they discriminate against Whites? Or, are you convinced that the Supreme Court will vote in favor of using race as a factor to even the playing field between Whites and minorities?

Rumsfeld Hints At Seizing Baghdad--a city of 5,000,000 people
"Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld suggested on Thursday that U.S. forces bearing down on Baghdad might lay siege to the capital and hope anti-Saddam Hussein citizens rise up against the government before American troops have to invade the city of 5 million.
Rumsfeld also said the United States and its battlefield allies would accept nothing short of total victory in Iraq.

IS IT TRUE THAT BLACK MEN WILL MARRY WHITE WOMEN QUICKER THAN THEY WOULD BLACK WOMEN?
Of the black men and white women you see together, about 9 out of 10 times they are married.
Of the black men and black women you see together, about 9 out of 10 times they are not married.
In other words, only 1 in 10 black couples may be married and 9 in 10 black men/white women couples ARE MARRIED.
What's going on brothas? Why is it so difficult for you to be REAL men and marry black women?
Black guys will make babies with black women but they will not marry. Black guys will move in with black women or get a house together with black women and live together for years without marrying. They have children while living together with black women and still won't marry. Some black couples be together for five, ten or twenty years and still black guys wont marry.
When it comes to white women, the asian, hispanic, european, and south american women you see black guys are with these days, YOU CAN BE 100 % CERTAIN that they are married. Why is it that black guys don't respect black women enough to marry them like they're doing non black women? They don't seem to mind helping black females produce out of wedlock children, but they wouldn't hardly do that with non black women.
Black guys are all over the place with their interracial families. When it comes to that interracial family black guys try to be REAL MEN then. Look at them with their mixed families, being Mr. Family Man. Look at black men in the stores with their mixed families pushing the shopping carts, holding hands with their mixed kids.
Black women are always in the stores shopping alone or with their black children and no men around. Where are the black men because the children are black?
That just shows you that when it comes to black women, black men PRETEND not to understand RESPONSIBLITY, PARENTHOOD, or FAMILY BONDING and TOGETHERNESS, until THEY get with white and other non black women and produce mixed kids---The interracial family seem to bring out the MAN in black guys. That's whey they strive to do their best. Too bad black men can't get inspired to do the same for black women and black children.

"Years ago, when I was a television news reporter, my crews and I used to call for a reality check with a standard expression: Don't take it seriously; it's only television.
I keep repeating that phrase to myself as I look at the report cards that various research and interest groups produce about prime-time entertainment on the six major broadcast networks, ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, UPN and WB.
It's no big scoop that TV entertainment is mostly about fantasy and escape.
Still, this a powerful educational medium too. Its advertisers certainly think so and they're putting serious money behind it. Should TV's potential to influence, persuade and inform be taken more seriously by the rest of us too?
That's the big question raised by "Watch Out, Listen Up," the National Organization for Women Foundation's third annual "Feminist Prime-time Report." (It's on the Internet at http://www.nowfoundation.org.)
The America that the foundation sees depicted on TV tells us a lot about the planet that network programmers wished we lived on.
Call it "Planet TV." It is a place where a guy who is your average, likeable, workaday, dog-faced moron who captures the heart of a woman who is really hot-looking because she, being the sensible one, appreciates his mind more than his looks.
It is a place where all of the female heroes are strong, brave, young and trim and kick lots of serious butt, yet aren't above using their sex appeal to get ahead sometimes.
Yet, more often than not, they still answer to male authority figures. So it's OK, guys. There's no need for you to feel too threatened.
Magic lives on TV. Planet TV is a place so filled with magic people that you are more likely to encounter a witch, an angel or a space alien than a person with a physical disability of some kind.
Similar observations have come out of a "Prime-time in Black and White," a five-year study by UCLA's Center for African-American Studies.
Remember how civil rights groups threatened to boycott network TV three years ago over the lack of prominent roles for non-white performers? Since then, UCLA's Darnell Hunt finds, there are more blacks in the TV season that began last fall, but they still tend to be "ghettoized" by genre, time slot or channel.
Almost 40 percent of all black characters appeared in situation comedies, for example, compared to 31 percent of whites. Saturday nights, which have the smallest audience, were the biggest nights for black casting and at one network, UPN, 28 percent of the regular roles were held by African-Americans, more than twice the average on other networks.
Yes, there are lots of black people on Planet TV and most of them are hilarious.
But whatever you do, don't talk about it. Planet TV tends to be amazingly free of talk about race. Even on Fox's thriller series "24," in which the president of the U.S. is black, hardly anyone ever makes reference to that fact, not even the black people.
To me, as a fan of "24," these are black people who were created in a factory by white people. In my experience, white Americans tend to be reluctant to talk about race, while black Americans can't seem to stop talking about race.
But that's only real life.
Besides, as narrowly as blacks are depicted on the tube, the variety of Latino, Asian-American or American Indian life in America is shown even less.
With about 12.5 percent of the population, self-identified Latinos outnumber self-identified blacks (12 percent) in the latest census. Yet Latinos make up only 2 percent of the Planet TV population, the UCLA study found. Asian-Americans (3.6 percent of the population) did slightly better at 2.8 percent of TV characters.
And American Indians, with about 1 percent of the population, came up zero, virtually invisible on Planet TV.
Maybe they're lucky. The highest-profile Latino-cast show this season was "Kingpin," which airs on NBC, Bravo and the Spanish-language Telemundo networks. It is a show about a drug lord's family and is written by two-time Emmy winner David Mills, an African-American.
This has kicked off a familiar debate among non-white TV folks. Sure, it's another stereotype, but you have to reach a mainstream audience, they say. After all, this is show business, with the accent on the "business." Unfortunately, that appeal to mainstream audiences too often means appealing to mainstream prejudices.
Someday, we can all hope, the market will mature and we will see the rich diversity of this country's people depicted more completely in prime time TV.
Until then, viewers, beware. It's only television. Don't take it seriously."

The Department of Homeland Security is pushing emergency prepardness for all Americans, in the event of a terrorist attack.
The agency is advising families to choose two meeting places, one near home and one outside of the neighborhood, and to have a contact person out of state.
Make disaster kits for the home and car that include:

PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH AFTER SAYING THAT "MORE THEN 3,000 SUSPECTED TERRORISTS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED," HE BEADED HIS EYES AND ADDED, "MANY OTHERS HAVE MET A DIFFERENT FATE. LET ME PUT IT THIS WAY: THEY ARE NO LONGER A PROBLEM FOR THE UNITED STATES."

Not the baseball team but the cold-blooded, bloodthirsty Texas lawmen, so-called, who became legend for dispensing justice Texas-style to "suspected" this and "suspected" that. "One by one," the president said, "the terrorists are learning the meaning of American justice." Killing "suspected" perpetrators is not exactly what most Americans subscribe to as justice. James, the nation's most hyped player and expected No. 1 pick in this year's NBA draft, is driving around Akron in a Hummer H2, a sports utility vehicle popular with many pro athletes.
James' ride -- with a base retail price of nearly $50,000 -- has state high school officials wondering if the 18-year-old has jeopardized his amateur standing.
"We have some concerns,'' said Clair Muscaro, commissioner of the Ohio High School Athletic Association. "The thing I'm concerned about is that it was (a) gift from the outside. ... When our schools see something like that, it throws up a red flag. It's different than a parent buying their son or daughter a small vehicle.''
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that James, a senior at Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, was given the vehicle as an 18th birthday present by his mother, Gloria.
The SUV is outfitted with three televisions and a hookup for computer games. Gloria James obtained a bank loan to finance the purchase, the paper said quoting anonymous sources close to the team.
